The RM58mil Festive Street Mall in Johor Baru, the first purpose-built lifestyle shopping street mall in the country, has received overwhelming response from local retailers and the public.
The mall, sited in the heart of Johor’s premier integrated waterfront city development called Danga Bay, has achieved 90% tenancy since it was opened for lease four months ago.
''The project has received enormous response. It has been conceived to celebrate new lifestyle trends and explore cross-cultural traditions,'' Festive Street Mall said in statement.
The mall will be opened to the public next month.
Boasting an integrated mix of lifestyle retail products and services, the single-level, 118,700-sq-ft mall is divided into four distinct zones: Factory Outlet Stores, Oriental, Asia and Malaysia.
With some 280 retail outlets and about 2,000 parking lots, Festive Street Mall is marketed as the venue of choice for casual and alfresco dining, shopping and leisure and entertainment.
The mall will be connected to the rest of Danga Bay by tram.
In addition to its strategic location in the heart of Danga Bay, the Festive Street Mall is also sited next to the soon-to-be-completed Danga Walk, an urban lifestyle business hub comprising 158 three- and four-storey office lots and themed boutiques.
The RM15bil Danga Bay has been conceptualised as a world-class city within a city.
