Country View hoping for good sales [ 28/02/2003 ]
COUNTRY View Bhd is keeping its fingers crossed that its Nusa Bestari Jaya town house project will be warmly received despite house buyers' cool response to similar projects by other developers.

Its marketing manager Andrew Tan said although town house living had been part of the lifestyle in the Klang Valley for years, it could be considered quite new in Johor.

He said the company was aware that few developers had launched town house projects within the Johor Baru district in recent years but most of the projects had been badly received by house buyers.

Tan said Country View did not find this trend disturbing as it was confident that buyers would go after its newly launched project in Bandar Nusajaya.

''We are not only selling houses but also a tropical lifestyle as today's buyers are becoming more discerning and want more than just a roof above their heads,'' he said at the project launch last Saturday.

Tan said Country View preferred to call the project ''terraced condominium'' to differentiate it from earlier town house projects.

The project is targeted at first-time house buyers, Malaysian professionals working in Singapore but living in Johor Baru, singles aged between 26 and 35 years, and young families.

Tan said work on the three low-density blocks with a total 220 units had started with expected completion in 2005 and projected sales turnover of RM34mil.

He said the three apartment types were named after Balinese architectural features - the Sayan, Bayan and Mayan - and offered floor area of between 1,165 and 1,635 sq ft, priced from RM143,000 to RM173,000 each.

Tan said buyers could go for the option packages to include furniture, additional cost of upgrading to deluxe floor and wall tiles, plaster ceiling, shower enclosure, air-conditioner piping for master bedroom and living area and aluminium security grill.

''The additional cost would be included in the sale and purchase agreement and the buyer can then get one loan instead of applying for another one for renovations,'' Tan added.
